Business Administrator - Level 3

Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors.

Why you should consider an apprenticeship:

Hire a new apprentice

  • Develop a new member of staff to align with your organisation’s values and principles
  • Grow a new role with someone who has new ideas and enthusiasm
  • Bring in new skills or support existing staff with greater capacity
  • Move your organisation forward economically

Upskill an existing staff member:

  • Provide CPD and qualification opportunities
  • Support career progression
  • Increase staff retention
  • Increase productivity with staff learning new skills to support their current role

About the apprenticeship

Duration: 18 months. 20% of their time ‘off the job’ to complete their apprenticeship

Qualifications: Where a business administrator has not already achieved grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.

Experience: The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

Skills: The business administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills.

Apprenticeship Funding:

Co-Investment

Your apprenticeship is 95% funded through the Education Skills Funding Agency meaning there is only a small contribution towards the apprentices training costs.

Levy Contributions:

If your organisation has a wage bill in excess of £3m then your apprenticeship training is 100% funded through Levy contributions you have already been making. This will probably mean you already have the funds to cover an apprentice’s on programme training.

Business Administrator Co-Investment – £250

You will be required to pay a co-investment of 5% of the total training costs.
